Project X is a 78-unit work-live building that features 200-square foot units designed to attract small businesses looking for flexible space to work and to reside, when necessary. The ground floor includes retail units, a shared courtyard, indoor bike parking, and a community meeting space, while the upper floors contain primarily work-live spaces with optional modular kitchens and three shared lavatory/shower facilities per floor. The building design is expressive of the small unit module, featuring a randomized facade. The development team looks to forge partnerships with local non-profit organizations to capture the project’s potential to return some of its vital energy to the community. Project X is intended to be a humane and inspiring place in which a grass roots creative and entrepreneurial community can thrive.
